Sundays are our family days to do things with it being Hubby's day off. We have gone to Menominee Park and Zoo, which is nice, but the park is over run by 14-15 year olds. It wouldn't be too bad if they weren't literally running all over and using foul language and doing things that kids just shouldn't be doing. Will have to go back when those kids are in school. The zoo was cool. The park has a beach too, and had it not been so chilly, the children would have been in the water in no time! It didn't stop them from putting their feet in. It was beautiful.

The next Sunday we went to the AirVenture Museum. It was amazing! They had every type of small plane you could imagine. "R" and "T" joined the Young Eagles Club. Apparently, Harrison Ford is the chairman of the Young Eagles (I'll explain the excitement with that in a minute). When you join the Yo

ung Eagles program you get to go up in an airplane ride. So, they each took a ride, separately. They went up, one child at a time, with the pilot. It was fun for them. For those of you that don't know me, I am terrified to fly. It was SO hard to let them go. On the other hand, I didn't want them to have the same fear of flying that I had. They enjoyed it. Just before "R" went up, the pilot met with the parents. He let us know about the plane and things. Then he told us that once they get 500 feet up in the air he lets the child fly the plane. That's cool, but I really didn't need to know that until they got back from flying. It was very relieving once they were both back down on the ground. But it was wonderful to know that they loved it!
Back to the Harrison Ford thing. It was kind of weird. "R" and "T" are MAJOR Star Wars and Indiana Jones fans. After we signed them up to be Young Eagles they handed us a brochure. So while we were out waiting in line for the plane ride, we read through the brochure. That's when we saw his picture and read that he was the chairman of the Young Eagles. That was oh so weird. They immediately knew who he was and thought that was the coolest thing!

The AirVenture Museum was a hit! We look forward to going back. They had a wonderful hands-on children's area. It was amazing! There was a plane that you could get into and sit down. It made you feel

like you were really flying the plane.

We look forward to our next visit to the museum.
