We're Home

I haven't forgotten about you! I just finished reading your blogs. How refreshing after a crazy couple of days.

We are finally home. We arrived home around 4:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday. We had a wonderful welcome from "L" as she ran out the door to greet us. My goodness she looks and acts so much older. It was good to know that she missed us. It was so good to be greeted with her warm, tight hugs!

My mom had made chili for us for supper at our house, that was nice and yummy. We had the chance to sit down and eat as a family around the table, again very nice. As nice as it was to be home, we weren't home for long. We had to go grocery shopping. The house isn't going to stock itself. There isn't anything too yummy left in a house that's been empty for almost 5 months.

We finally crawled into bed around 12:30 that night. We then turned around and got up around 6 on Sunday morning for church. It felt great to be back at our home church! There's no place like home. The children were able to see some friends that they have missed a great deal too.

After church "L" and I went out to spend some time together, just her and I. That was nice. We had a lot of fun. It's good to know that even after everything that she has been through since she has been home, she's still our wonderful "L". Yeay! She really is a wonderful young lady.

While "L" and I were gone, Hubby packed his bag to head off. Hubby will be working with my brother back in Joliet, IL. They are both happy about that. He will be home every Saturday evening and Sunday. This job will probably only last until Thanksgiving. At this time, we haven't heard any rumors of where he will be going next. Hopefully he will be staying close enough to where he can return home every weekend.

Today, we spent the day away from home again. My mom needed a ride to her vehicle that was about 45 minutes away. All of my family lives in this town so we went and visited with family and friends. Yep, all day (from 8:30 this morning til about 5:30 this evening) . We had the chance to spend some time with my grandparents. Then we went and visited with some friends. We had a good day.

After our good day, it's really GOOD to be home. I do still have stuff to put away (everything). It was interesting getting ready for church on Sunday morning as we were tearing through bags and tubs to find stuff. We were able to wash 3 loads of laundry. Hubby folded those while "L" and I were gone too.

I am so looking forward to closing my eyes and getting some rest. I have told the children that we will not be going anywhere for the rest of the week. I am ready for our house to be back in order.

Hope you all have a great morning.
