Back To It

We have been home for 4 days (5 with today), then HumV received his call yesterday. He has a new location. We had plans of attacking the garage and other areas in the house and getting them situated and cleaned up. Those plans are now on hold, again, but we're okay with that! Work is a LOT more important than cleaning up the garage. Besides, I guess I could get someone to watch H4 and do it myself, but who would kill the creepy crawler's and move the stuff that might have creepy crawler's (because I don't tough those!)?

We have had a lot going on these past couple of days. A lot, but nothing too important, ya know? HumV had to take back the company 'Rig' that he and my brother drove while in Ohio. So my brother went with him on Monday. That pretty much took the entire day. About 3 hours there and then whatever time it takes while they're there, then 3 hours back home. We stayed at home and made the kitchen a bit messier as I unpacked a few kitchen things and got those washed up. Well, that is until we had to go pick HumV up at my brother's house about 45 minutes away (that please the kids I tell ya!). We had supper in the crock pot, so we knew it would be a quick trip.

We finally realized a 'quick' or better yet, an easier way of cooking while at the hotel. We purchased a crock pot/slow cooker. Duh!! Why didn't we think of this sooner?! We had fabulous meals!! What we couldn't cook in the slow cooker, we cooked in the microwave. It was SO much better than eating out, and we saved a lot more money too! So if you have any slow cooker recipes that you would like to share please do!! Feel free to email me or leave it in the comments. We had roast/potatoes/carrots, chicken/rice/broccoli, pork chops with golden mushroom soup (and mashed potatoes in the microwave), and we attempted chicken and noodles (fyi, noodles do not cook well in a slow cooker, but we had to try it). And then there were a few nights that we ate out or ordered in.

We have also been focused on our new lifestyle change. Planning out our meals and focusing on drinking a lot more water than usual (mostly because we didn't drink a lot of water).

We are back to packing up some stuff to send with HumV. We will be joining him at his new location in about a week. Kids have Dr. appointments and a few sport sign-ups that we have to take care of next week so we can't go just yet. But we are sending what we can with him. Things that he can use even without us there, kitchen supplies and things.

Since we have been home a couple of our children have learned some new things.

Well, H1 learned something new, how to mow the lawn.

H4 just wanted to show that he knows all about personal hygiene.

Yes, the toothbrush is a bit big for his mouth, it's his sister's. Yuck!! And they talked me into letting him run around the house without his shirt on. I let him, for a while.

Oh, and H1 enjoyed herself. She thinks that we need a riding mower. We laughed, you would too if you knew how small our yard is. It takes maybe 30 minutes to mow with a push mower. And a funny little thing to add to it, some of you will understand, a neighbor of ours was out and said that it was cruel to 'make' her mow. I should mention that he was saying it in a joking manner, I think. He felt that our boys should be out doing it. LOL!!! Ok, well, first off, she is almost 12 and has wanted to learn how to mow for a couple of years, but I was afraid for her to. She wanted to do it!! We did NOT make her do it. Second, do ya think I'm gonna let our boys out there to do it?! NO!! They are still young, in my opinion, to be doing that.

It has been nice having HumV home. It will be nice to go back out with him.
