We left on Friday night to head out to Connecticut. We drove about half way and crashed in a hotel for the night. That was our plan. Woke the kids up early Saturday morning and headed out. The kids were excited to get to their Uncle and Aunt's house, to hang with their cousins and to ditch mom and dad. See, we were driving the kids out to Connecticut to leave them for 2 weeks with their Uncle, Aunt and cousins. We knew it would be a long trip, but this is something they have looked forward to for a year.
We are now on our way home, well, our temporary home in Ohio. I have to say, I was bummed because we would be traveling on the 4th of July and we would miss fireworks, again. Friday night as we stopped for gas we were able to enjoy fireworks. Then Saturday morning we enjoyed the beautiful country side. Oh my goodness!!! It is gorgeous!!!!
We were able to spend some time with HumV's brother and his family. We enjoyed our time of swimming with them and then a cookout. After all the fun of that we went back to their house and warmed up by a fire.
We had a wonderful time! And when it came time to leave this morning, we did, with only 1 child. They have a very busy 2 weeks planned. They will be going to Six Flags New England, Brown Stone Park, a new CT Science Center, kayaking, camping in Rhode Island (for 3 days!!) and so much more. Before we left H1 informed me that they are planning on going to a place tomorrow where they will jump off of a cliff into water. Ummm, what?!?! There are some things that a mother doesn't need to know in cases like this.
They will have a fabulous time. We will enjoy some one-on-one time with H4, but we will miss H1, H2 and H3 while they are gone.
