H4 had a fabulous birthday and a wonderful party with family!! We had a houseful too!! We were wondering how H4 would like cake and couldn't wait to find out. When it came time, he stuck a finger in it and was done. He didn't care for the taste of it either (but it was good!). H1 decided to help him (she had been looking forward to him getting to eat cake, as we are "he can't have that yet" type of parents). By the time she was done "helping" him, his entire hand was covered in icing and so were his lips. He wasn't thrilled about that either.

We were worried about him getting tired so we planned his party around his nap time, about a hour before his nap time. But it didn't work like we had planned, he started getting tired at the beginning of his party. When it came time to open gifts he wasn't as excited as we had hoped, so H1 helped him out with that too.

We all had a great time.

The party lasted all day for some. As HumV and I were dealing with a very sleepy 1 year old, H1 had a friend over that was able to be here for the actual party as well as the evening, night, Sunday morning and afternoon (she's our second daughter) and H2 had a friend over after the party. Later on another friend came over to hang out and spend the night with H1. So for the evening, night, Sunday morning and most of Sunday afternoon, we had 7 children. We ended up taking one home just before we attended the new Middle School Open House. All of our other children went with us. :)

H2 and H3 enjoyed ramping some really cool cars that H4 received. We were thankful that we didn't have to worry about entertaining the children. The big blocks, mega blocks and balloons kept all 7 children busy when they all had to come inside on Saturday night.

They all enjoyed playing outside during the day. It was a beautiful day!! As the bigger boys were playing and riding bikes, we took a moment with H4 to send a Happy Birthday wish to Cora. Cora's 1st birthday was on Thursday. I think about Cora's parents everyday, but especially on Thursday. With all the fun of decorating and planning H4's birthday, I was wishing they would have been doing the same for their precious 1 year old.

H4 enjoyed his time outside. He's quite the nature boy like his daddy. He too gets excited about every bird that he sees.

I even

let him go outside without shoes on. He's still getting used to shoes.

Just for the record, H4 feels the same way we all do about this time change thing. In fact, I think he dislikes it more than us! Between all the activity and the time change, he has been cranky. We noticed a big change in him on Sunday afternoon, he was A LOT happier!! Things had calmed down and we were back to "normal". Except that his naps were still off and he didn't want to go to sleep until about 10:30 (a lot of that too was because his naps were off, all due to the time change). I was telling HumV that I didn't remember the older 3 being affected like this. He reminded me that they didn't have to deal with it. This time change thing is new to us. It's been about 3 years now that we have had to change our clocks and we are ready to go back to the OLD way!!!!
